I got this 1979 DT as payment for putting a new clutch in a mate’s Beetle in about 1985. Engine was knackered, it had been used as a field bike and there were various bits missing. Sourced a used engine from a Bombardier (I think). got it running, painted it up and then sold it to buy a Superdream 250 – needed something that would do the 25 mile commute to college reliably. Would love to have another one now, but they go for silly money. Incidentally, never realised it actually started life as a 125 until I looked it up on the DVLA website this week. It still says it’s a blue 125! I suspect it’s long dead though – hasn’t been taxed since before I had it.
