Husqvarna CR250

This thing was evil in the way only old air-cooled motocross bikes know how to be evil. I bought it for 25 quid from a mate in Portsmouth as a non-runner in about 1988. Sorted the sparks out and got it running but never knew how to set it up, and it was a bastard to start and then had a power band that would bite you in the arse as soon as look at you. In short, loads of fun. Took it to France and thrashed it on the beach with a mate, and every time he stalled it he couldn’t start it, so I had to, until my right foot was a mass of bruises. Then he decided to launch it off a dune, but changed his mind at the last minute. BIke rolled down, dragged the throttle tube off the bars and pulled the throttle to the stop. engine screamed, ingested a load of sand and expired noisily and terminally. I was so relieved not to have to start the bloody thing any more…. still miss it though.

How cool is that!?
