2008 Kawasaki ZZR1400

I ran this as a long term test bike for RiDE Magazine in 2008. What a bike – absolute rocketship. Far, far too tempting – I was relieved when it went back to Kawasaki after about 10,000 miles. Did a few long trips on it, took it to a run what ya brung at Santa Pod (I think) which was fun. Fitted a Scottoiler to it to avoid chain hassles – good move. Covered the side panels with gaffa tape to protect them from throwover luagge – bad move. Left it too long and it wrecked the finish. Fitted a Ventura luggage rack which made it a lot more practical.

Not the prettiest bike in the world - bloody fast though....

Here's a tio, kids - if you cover the sidepanels in gaffa tape to protect them, don't leave it on all summer....

A Scottoiler made life a lot easier - hardly had to adjust the chain in all the time I had it.

All road bikes should have heated grips, I reckon.
