1997 Honda CB500S

Bought as a station hack, four years ago with 9,000 miles on the clock for £900. Have spent the last four years riding it everyday in all weathers on a 25 mile round trip along country lanes, or what I like to call my own version of the TT.

During that time I have replaced the chain and sprocket (twice), rear shocks, two speedo cables and the starter motor. In addition this year I managed to crash it. Managed to ride it home after kicking it back into shape. Only new part needed was upper fairing, unfortunate could only find one blue :(. It was also stolen and then recovered, and the only repair was rewiring the ignition as the muppets didn’t have a clue how to hot wire and were caught wheeling it through the local park.

I have decided to give it this winter off, but come spring it will be back out being a right nusiance.

Whoops :( Crashes really well. Literally polished it out and stuck on secondhand fairing, after bending the foot rest back to shape in the vice

- BAD POINTS
Can't think of any really. Engine is a bit gutless, handling is poor and brakes are shocking, but it starts every day and lets me get away with riding like a hooligan in all conditions. All problems on it have been caused by me
